I am surrounded by barking dogs . A new neighbor got one and ties it to
a 10 foot chain over on one side of their house far away from any
windows or human contact and it stays there for weeks and barks all day
long .
I have been over there 3 times asking them to please que the dog for
good .. yep you guessed it .. they dont care .

Today i put a huge cardboard sign on my fence facing their house that
said `` stop barkng dog`` . When he got home he about broke my door down
and dented it with his fist & threw the sign in my yard .
i called the cops and they came & only told us we should have a nice
chat and work it out . Aint gona happen ! those people are nuts .

What can be done ? the dog owners just dont care . I guess i need to
paint the message right on the fence .

In my area, if you document the barking for how long and when for a number
of days or a week and report it to animal control, they will do something
about it. Don't know what your bylaws state.

NOW THAT'S SMART, Paint the fence and next time it might be your head he
dents in.

I will ask animal control here about this .. thanks .

I hope he does dent my head in then i can sue him . The fence is mine on
my property . Their has never been a problem with the guy he was always
friendly and helpfull till the dog came along .

What makes people get a big dirty destructive dog , tie it up on a short
rope and never pay attention to it ???

That's a good question. We had quiet enjoyment of our property till our
neighbor bought a dog. it barks constantly when it's outside and even when
they are outside with it, they do nothing to curb the barking. And
otherwise the dog seems to be treated well, not chained up or anything. I
mean my dog is a barker, but only when someone comes to the door. It's a
chi after all (;o), but never outside unless their dog starts off and then
she responds. They know how we feel but don't care.

We have reported them to animal control and it got a little better, but soon
escalated to the former behaviour. We are moving so, I just decided to bear
with it for the nonce. It's not too bad in winter anyway.

After that whole marry ann the neighbors did nothing .. dog barked all
day . I went down to the police and got a ``warning`` ``law suit``
letter sent to them , its the only legal way here , then court .
