Hi i am buying a Yorkshire Terrier female puppy from a breeder who is
expecting the litter June 5th. She said she wanted $1500 for her and wanted
$500 downpayment (non-refundable). I told her i would give her half of the
money $750 and she was happy with that. The breeder showed me pictures of
the parents and said my female pup wouldn't be more then 3-4 pounds. I was
satisfied with the parents because i want a small (teacup) dog and decided
to buy a dog from her. This was all said and done on March 30th. Now April
10th my breeder just informed me that i am first on the list for a female
puppie from this litter. This is the first litter from this dog and the
breeder just informed me that she is planning on keeping a female from this
litter if it looks big enough to be a breeding dog. So basically she told me
her dog will most likely have 3 pups and i probably won't be getting a
female pup from this litter because she wants to use it for a breeding dog.
She said i could have a pup from her next litter (from a different dog) if
she has a female. All of her other female yorkies are quite a bit bigger
then the one i want my pup from. I want a small Yorkie and i wanted it this
summer from the June 5th litter so all this information is new to me with
the chance of not even getting a pup from this litter. So i am wondering if
this is normal practice when dealing with breeders?

I was cheated buying a Yorkie from a breeder . My Yorkie turned out to
weigh three times as much as she claimed . I took the male even though I
was promised a female.
I argued with her and contacted the Kennel club --
No help from them . sued in small claims court and
after many continuances she offered to give me my money back but take
the dog back but I loved it to much by then and kept the dog and dropped the
case as she figured I would. Ask for your money back , she has broken the
contract . You have been conned. She never intended to give you a female .
Take her to court before
the breeder gives you a male.
