We have two dogs, a black lab and a flat coat retriever. We recently
replaced our carpet and retiled the downstairs. This eliminated the dog
odor for quite awhile. But now it's back again.

The dogs are house-trained, so far no accidents on the new carpet and/or
tile. However, we can't seem to get rid of the odor. Air freshner and
stuff like that works for awhile, but unfortunately I think it simply masks
the dog odor as opposed to neutralizing/eliminating it.

Are there any solutions to getting rid of dog smell? We love our dogs to
death, but it's certainly embarassing having guests over when the house has
such a strong smell! We vaccuum and clean regularly which never seems to
completely eliminate the odor problems.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dustin

Giving the dogs a bath on a monthly basis can help.

Hello Dustin, I have used an air purifier called Living Air
(http://www.livingairdirect.com/ )for about 9 years and love it. It was
pretty expensive but I feel it was worth every penny as it has
eliminated all the animal odors in my home and has operated perfectly
since I got it. No repairs at all.
