My dog has always been a "nervous" dog. She is a lab/ shepard mix.
During the summer she chews on her back and tail so bad that she makes
it raw. Does anyone have any idea why she does that and how or what I
can do to make her stop or give her relief? Any comments are
appreciated!

If by "back and tail" you're referring to the *base* of the tail that's
a typical site for dogs to go for if they have flea allergies. One
of my old girls (RIP) had flea allergies severe enough that one
flea bite would clue us in....cuz she'd turn right around and
snatch chunks of fur right out :( Perhaps a flea bath & one
of the drop on flea/tick killers...they're supposed to be real
effective.
Also with her breeds, I imagine she's got a healthy undercoat...if
she's blowing coat fairly well she may simply be itchy and it's
the easiest place to reach....again, a good bath & grooming
might help.

Thank You! She doesn't have fleas because I have them on the flea
medicine. I did suspect that it was alergies. Do you know what I can
do for that?
