bleached towels

I put a small amount of bleach in the washing machine when I washed my
towels this week and my cat has gone absolutely catnip crazy over the
smell of the used towels. He hasn't shown any signs of the bleach
smell being harmful to him, but should I let him roll around on the
used towels? I know that sounds like a stupid question, but I'm a
little concerned about him getting "high" on chemical smells.
