Smile, I've not seen this but I have heard of it. Even to the point of a
'false pregnancy act' (looking for a spot to have kittens, prepping a spot
for laying in) then 'adopting a furry stuffed toy'.
Call the vet to be sure but I think this one is just natures way of saying
'I want to be a mommie'.

Could be that the vet who spayed her missed a bit of ovarian tissue.
That happened to my friend's cat, and the vet had to go back in after
the cat exhibited signs of being in heat, and remove the leftover
ovarian tissue.
But before going in and "respaying" her, you might also want to have
the vet test her hormones. Something could just be out of whack.

Hmm, I had a friend whose cat had 3 ovaries and one was left inside
because it was hidden and she had to have it removed later. But the
"later" was only a couple of months after the initial spay. I would
think if Scarlett had any residual tissue or another ovary that it
would have manifested before now because it's been over 3.5 years
since she was spayed, hasn't it?
Is it still going on? I've had cats act weird for a few hours in that
way. Maybe there's an outdoor cat in heat or some unneutered toms
around? Or maybe it is the mice.
