Hi All,

Squeezeboy, my 6yo male, has been urinating in inappropriate places on
multiple occasions over the past 2 years. At first, it only happened
once every few months, but now he seems to be getting used to it and
has begun urinating in the entryway to my apartment and on my bed (!)
2-3 times per week. I've covered these areas in plastic, but
obviously need to figure out what is causing this behavior. I took
him to the vet 6 months ago to see if it was UTS (it was not). He
makes big puddles, with no blood or apparent discoloration, and it is
turning into a real problem.

His overall behavior is neither unhappy or sick -- he gets a lot of
attention and often will sleep on his back with his paws sticking up
in the air (which I take as a sign of happiness and contentment).

I would greatly appreciate any advice from the group about deterring
this behavior. I'm hoping to avoid using "scat-mats" (mats with a
mild electric current) or smelly/noxious "cat repellents" if possible.

Thanks in advance,

Andy
