Nüle sent me this and it's truly amazing. Do have a look.
It took ages to load and I couldn't work out how to get it to play at first
until I clicked on the > at the bottom (not being used to facebook thingies)
but it was absolutely fabulous.

Hands up anyone who thinks their cat would have agreed to be trained to this
degree? My hand is down ;-)
She certainly seems to be enjoying it.
Maybe we underestimate our cats.

Fun video, thanks! Yes, she seems to be enjoying it so no reason not to
think the cat didn't agree. It looks like a good way to work off
nervous energy in a younger cat so she can sleep at night.

Would Persia have agreed to it? Doubtful. But she's never been allowed
to run around outside, much less on an obstacle course. You won't catch
me running around on an obstacle course, either. LOL

Nor me, but I can imagine Boyfie (who is allowed to run about outside)
saying "are you joking or what?"

That's great!! I've heard of agility training and I guess that would
qualify.

Yes, it's like an agility course for dogs with the jumps and in and out
poles and the tunnel (which the cat decided against, quite rightly).
This young woman must have put a lot of time into training her cat. I can't
imagine Boyfie even wanting to try- he'd think I was crazy and retire to his
duvet. "What, me? jump over poles and go round an agility course? Don't be
ridiculous!"

That *is* amazing! Not just that a cat can be trained to do all that,
but that the cat can be so well trained by a kid. That takes a lot of
patience and dedication. If she wants to, she'll make a great animal
trainer when she grows up.

Thanks for posting - that was a lot of fun to watch.

I thought the video posted by "J" was much more entertaining.

Hot Brown Sandwich

This is a hot open-faced sandwich invented at the Brown Hotel in
Louisville, Kentucky in 1926. It's a variation on welsh rarebit.

thickly sliced white bread, toasted
sliced turkey
sliced streaky bacon, cooked crisp
Mornay sauce
sliced tomato (optional)

Mornay Sauce:

2 1/2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups warmed milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
pinch freshly grated nutmeg (optional)
2 ounces grated gruyere or other swiss cheese

Melt the butter and stir in flour, salt & pepper until smooth. Add milk
and cooking stirring, until slightly thickened. Add cheese and cook
until sauce is smooth.

Place sliced turkey on slices of toasted bread. Top with bacon and
spoon the mornay sauce over the top. Add a slice of tomato on top if
desired. Place under the broiler and heat until the sauce is lightly
browned and bubbly.

You're quite welcome, Matthew! I haven't had one of these in decades.
It showed up as a dinner special at "the club", which I'm forced to
belong to. I was surprised they'd even heard of a Hot Brown.
