When Hobbes was a kitten he was outside one afternoon playing a game
of tag with me. We were in the woods and he was on a fallen tree. He
would run to one end and when I walked around the vines and fallen
limbs and could almost get my hands on him he'd run to the other end.
He played this game for a good 10 minutes. Never letting me catch
him. Until he heard DH's car turn into the driveway and he shot out
of the woods and went running to tell Rusty all about he game he was
playing with Meowmy. I had never seen a cat run so fast to greet
someone and had never seen it since....until today.

Rusty and I are on vacation and we spent the day at the clinic so he
can see all his doctors without having to take time off from work. We
then took a friend to dinner and dropped her off at the airport. We
came home and as we drove past our neighbors yard I saw a black and
white cat sitting near the telephone pole. We stopped to get our mail
and Rusty spoke to the kitty. She(?) came running across the
neighbor's yard to get pettings. We've never seen this cat before.
Because we didn't want to leave her near the road I got out and walked
down the driveway with the cow cat following me. Rusty parked the
truck and was watching us walk down the driveway. I told him to call
her and when he did she ran the rest of the way to him. Ran....fast,
almost like a dog would run. It was the strangest thing I've ever
seen. It is a healthy, very affectionate, black and white cat. When
we offered it food it was ravenous. So, at this point the jersey cow
cat is sleeping in our garage. We're not sure if it is a cat that the
neighbors recently acquired or if someone dropped it off. We're
scheduled to leave town tomorrow for a few days. At this point we're
going to take kitty to our vet, have her tested for nasties, checked
for a microchip, etc. When we return we'll look for "lost cat"
posters and determine if this pretty little jersey cow cat has found a
new home. Of course that will depend on the opinion of our current
owners.

I'm not sure what kind of purrs to ask for. I guess the most
important purrs are that the pretty little girl is healthy and that
she find her way back to her one true home ...whether that is with us
or someone else.

I'll post pictures when we get back from visiting my in-laws.

Aww, she sounds sweet. I hope you find her humans, if there are any
missing her, or failing that, I hope she's healthy and ready to be
accepted into your home. In which case, congratulations!!

She does seem like a very sweet cat. She's obviously been owned at
sometime in her life. She came to us, let me hold her and wanted in
the house when we tried to go in. and I'm mistaken about the type of
cow. She's a holstein cow rather than a jersey. See I only know beef
cows <vbg>, I've never had a dairy cow before.

That's because you were *chasing* him - he would have come if you'd
called. Just kidding. :)

The new cow cat sounds very cute.
