Pastel Blue Pacific Parrotlett

I have a question I hope someone will help me with. I have the opportunity
to purchase a pair of pastel blue parrotletts. Should I purchase a pair of
this rare color, or would it be better to purchase a male and pair him up
with a split female?

I am only thinking of the genetics. Although I'm not sure on the pastels if
they would be like the albino death factor. Does anyone out there have any
suggestions?

Lucky you! I've seen a parrotlet and they are absolutely adorable. I can
only imagine how pretty pastel blue would be.

A pair, as in brother/sister or same sex siblings? What would the odds
be that these two birds came from different sets of parents?

I'd be curious to know how same bloodline birds do with mating. I know
it's discouraged in other pets and humans.

Can't help you in any seriousness, but my suggestion would be to go buy
at least *one* of them. Today. :)

I absolutely adore these little gems. I was lucky enough to respond to an
ad yesterday, and picked up a little girl for a great price. I wanted to
have them in Alaska, but they were so expensive when I lived up there. Now
I'm back in Texas and it seems all the birds I could only dream of up there,
are here.

The pastel blue is almost like a baby powder blue. I think I will take your
suggestion and purchase at least one of the pastels.
