Yes, I saw it. Of course, it looked like the roller coaster went
right thru him. But, his Mr. Mysterioso/Urban Bling schtick wears
thin with me. Too much "Coming up - will he survive facing down a
screaming full roller coaster train?!?!?!?!", followed by a bunch of
commercials, until finally the real segment was what you knew it would
be. And everyone ooohs and aaahhs.

I actually liked the girl whose entire body looked as if it came thru
a hole in him. I would like to see the mechanics that make that
illusion happen. But when it looked like he pulled the bloody nose
off the little boy - that just seemed mean and gross.

I saw it too.

First, why are all of his fans white trash? They're either missing
teeth, or they have his tattoo on their shoulder, or they look like
they've never showered.

Okay now the other thing that bothered me. Just how fast does Canyon
Blaster go? I really doubt it's doing 70 mph as it exits a corkscrew,
but that's what Angel said -- "traveling at 70 miles per hour at the
point of impact!". He said "70 mph" many times in the lead-up to the
actual illusion.

Oh, and the juice will make your shoes slip.

Performing an escape from the tracks of a roller coaster has been done
before by magician Lance Burton. He escaped from the tracks of
Desperado.

Since I did not see the show, what did Chris Angel do that made it
original? Did he add to it in some way?

Burtons was like a Houdini stunt, where Angel appeared in the first car
of the train that just ran thru him.

Angel stood on the track - one foot on each rail, but he was covered
with paper on each side -- like a snare drum turned on end. He had his
hands sticking out of little holes that were punched out of the paper so
he was essentially looked like a big X.

Oh, and I just read that Canyon Blaster's top speed is 41mph, not quite
the 70 Angel kept saying during the stunt.

Burton's was camera trickery like most TV magic. It was top-notch
Hollywood level effects. After watching David Copperfield's Niagara
Falls trick for weeks, and being on the show, I can assure you, you
must take everything literally on those shows. If the magician
doesn't say there are no camera tricks, there are. David even said it
was one long camera shot. It was, from the point he said it, whcih
was already days after they filmed the part with me in the audience
that appeared to happen mere seconds before, up until the drop into
the falls. Again, he wasn't crystal clear on the true meaning of "one
long camera shot", so they took liberties.

The Criss Angel stuff I've seen is nothing but camera tricks or at the
very least a top notch cameraman that has rehearsed the filming of the
trick MANY times with Criss. I missed this show, I thought I Tivo'd
it. But by the sounds of it, Mr. Angel did not say there were no
camera tricks beforehand.
