Instead of pulling his concealed handgun,
one man threw several stools at
the assailant. He chose the stool as a
weapon because he didn't HAVE a gun
or a concealed handgun license.

(If he had enough time to throw 3 stools at the gunman,
he sure as shit had enough time to shoot him)

"[SEATTLE]
Someone inside a Seattle cafe where a gunman opened
fire threw stools at the assailant during a shooting rampage police
described as "callous, horrific and cold," a move that allowed others to run
to safety. Ian Lee Stawicki was armed with two .45-caliber handguns and
began shooting Wednesday morning at Cafe Racer, killing four people. Police
said he fled and later killed a female motorist, taking off with her SUV."

It's a shame cj wasn't there - he could have died proud of not carrying
a gun.

Damn, now the lefties are going to want to ban bar stools. At the very
least they will want you to have to prove you need a bar stool and then
require a permit to use one, and don't even think of trying to carry it
concealed.

I wonder if this bar had a sign that said "No Weapons Allowed", and if
they did we know how that prohibition works.

As far as I know, it's illegal to carry a concealed weapon (permitted or
not) in a bar in Washington State. However, this appears to have taken place
at a cafe - not a bar. And kudos to the fellow throwing the bar stools at
the gunman. What a giant set of cojones to take that kind of action. We've
heard about bringing a knife to a gun fight, but bar stools facing a pair of
.45s? That takes a pair of extra large brass ones...

We have cafes and other stores that have "No Weapons Allowed" here in
AZ. They think it really helps. :-(

I agree. He didn't crawl on the floor hoping he wouldn't be shot, he
attacked and made it clear he wasn't going down without a fight.

A Catholic priest who is a buddy of Jeremiah Wright and who has a
parish in a Chicago neighborhood ridden with crime has the
solution to gun crimes. Titles. Yep, guns would be titled just
like cars and this would insure that criminals couldn't get
guns. He was on Fox News the other night. I couldn't conjure up
such a naive bunch of drivel if I devoted all my time to the project.

According to this:
http://www.google.com/maps?layer=c&z=17&sll=47.671465,-122.31726200000001&cid=6390701145359639987&panoid=r8nLL2quUCCohJ0eFiIXIA&cbp=13,71.47140221402218,,0,0&q=cafe+racer,+seattle&ei=u1XJT4e6IIOg8gSxvumEDw&sa=X&oi=local_result&ct=interior-innerspace-image-link&cd=1&resnum=4&ved=0CA8Q2hQoADAD
they have a full bar - and a nearly full mag of stools.

He's right you know. After all, cars have titles, and no car has ever
been stolen or used in a crime.
