Many years ago they wanted almost $400 for a new carb for my AJ! It was just a lawn mower carb, ferchristsake. The only thing wrong was that the hole where the throttle shaft went in was worn, allowing air in and fouling up the mixture. I ended up fixing the old one by boring out the body and inserting a brass bushing. John
