Hi Folks,
If Gov Romney is elected, and he and Paul Ryan are successful in
turning Medicare into a voucher system, and they are also successful
in overturning Obamacare, and since I've been paying into Social
Security for over 30 years, then when I reach the age when I can
collect from whatever replaces Medicare, well, just how much money per
month can I count on to buy health insurance on the open market? Also,
if Obamacare is overturned, and I develope a pre-existing condition
before I'm eligible for the voucher, will insurance companies still
take me as a customer, or will they adopt a no obligation attitude?
Just asking.

First they need the bill from congress. Well, not they, he.

Social Security and Medicare are different programs.

How the hell would we know?

I think they are saying they will "replace" the Not so Affordable Care Act.

Why not ask something that has answers?

I do not carry a gun hoping that
I'll be able to shoot someone, anymore than
I carry a jack hoping I'll have a flat
tire.
Me.

Of course not. Without the individual mandate they could not afford
to do this. What, do you share Richard's faith in the free lunch?

They keep saying that there are a few things that will be kept. One
is the coverage for older children. The other is coverage for pre

companies. That is the bad joke. Cut pay to compete with the Chinese
then expect folks to pay more out of pocket for insurance and
retirement.

Well OM, what you have here is what is called a MOOT QUESTION since
Romney and Ryan WILL NOT be elected in November so you have nothing to
worry about as pertains to your specific question since your question
is based upon a premise that will not exist.
