He was an Air Force B-1 pilot during 1995 NATO bombing campaign in Bosnia and Herzegovina and later in Desert Storm. During the earlier campaign he was flying bombing missions out of Whiteman Air Force Base near Blue Springs, MO (KC area). They would take off from Whiteman, refuel a couple of times. get final target instruction, drop their load, refuel, refuel, land at Whitman, debrief and go home and mow the lawn. Through those several bombing missions he never left the U.S.. Later he moved on to be B-1, then B-2 instructor and retired.
