Once upon a time Republicans prided themselves in taking the high
road. The moral high road that is.

But things have changed. They just joined the Democrats when they
elected Mark Sanford to one of the United States Representatives from
South Carolina.

I guess we can conclude that the Republicans take the moral
"high-road" when it is politically prudent to do so then return to
being normal hypocrites.

That's just those South Carolinian Republicans who'll vote for an unrepentant, horndog, Jeezus wheezer. Our Republicans on RORT aren't like that! Nosir! The Republicans on this board demand pure conservative, family values, from Godly candidates - With Biblical Principles! HawHawHaw!

He isn't nearly as sleazy as your heroes. Have you been watching

their very best to hide the lies of Obama and Hillary.

The cover-up is far worse than Watergate.

Such hypocrites you liberals are - first you demand that people "judge

South Carolina do just that, you take offense. Make up your mind.

If you look at whom liberals have elected over the years, I'm sure, given
the chance, those who frequent this newsgroup would certainly have voted for
the sister of a comedian. After all, they elected a comedian (Al Franken),
a clown (Barrack Obama), a witch (Nancy Pelosi) a walking gaff machine (Joe
Biden), a philanderer (Bill Clinton) and an obvious space alien (Barney
Frank. Who knows what language he speaks). The list is almost endless. My
mother used to tell me to clean the weeds from my own garden before worrying
about someone else's. Maybe you liberals should try that. So, nothermark,
Max, et al. , show how smart you are by following up with your list of whom
you consider are conservative incompetents. You guys never have an original

I'd like to see all living congressrats serving and former tried,
convicted, and executed for malfeasance in office if they ever voted
to pass a budget. Then we could fire all existing staff for
complicity and start over with a clean slate. While we are at it we
could claw back all the money their families made while they were in
office to help pay for the debt.

Let's see, how about George W. Bush, you know, the shrub!

Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.): Remember how he told the local TV
interviewer that pregnancy from rape is "really rare," because "if
it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that
whole thing down."

Then try Mitt Romney: How bout his verbal communication with wealthy
donors ----- You know that 47 percent of Americans are

He meant to say it, and even revisited the theme after he lost the
presidential race, griping that President Obama won re-election by
handing out "gifts" to young, minority, and female voters.

Then in a Feb. 1 interview on CNN, Romney told Soledad O'Brien, "I'm
not concerned about the very poor."

Richard Mourdock, yea the same Richard Mourdock that was set to take
over Richard Lugars seat in Indiana: Concerning a rape-abortion
question he replied, "I came to realize that life is that gift from
God. And, I think, even when life begins in that horrible situation of
rape, that it is something that God intended to happen."

Listen to who he defines as middle income.

I would not call anyone living on Social Security middle income...
YMMV.

He also does not have a clue about the very poor. There is no safety
net except for mothers of children and maybe geezers. That leaves a
sizeable population in trouble.

Bruce, you could be a politician. You really could. If there is one
person that could turn a turd into a popsicle it is you.

Think about this:

This just further proves what hypocrites the GOP really are. They went
after Clinton and Edwards with almost unbridled zealousness. Mark
Sanford's transgressions can be forgiven however.

Isn't it funny how hypocritical those so called "Christians" are. When
John Edwards did what he did, they were out for blood. Sanford lied
and visited his mistress in another country...all on the taxpayers
money....and they not only forgive him, they put him back in politics.
Sanford has been "forgiven".

GOP can get away with anything. God must love them more than Dems who
they would have tarred and feathered and maybe stoned.

It is sad when a party condemns others, such as Clinton for doing
something similar, then reward the man who cheated on wife, lied, and
let the taxpayers pick up the expense for his tryst in another
country. Now, he parades this woman at his side. Way to go party of
"family values"!

Senator David Vitter from Louisiana comes to mind. You remember when
Vitter was identified as a client of a prostitution service during the
DC Madam scandal. Yea, the "Christians" aka "Republicans" have chosen
to FORGIVE David Vitter as well.

Like I said Bruce, you should be in office.

I think if you go to the trouble of digging both sources had the same
news at the same time. Both were relying on the same feeds. The
difference is the slant and the amount of coverage. Evidently Fox had
more coverage than the MSM.

As a side note it must really gall the folks at FOX that they are not
considered MSM. ;-)

I'll repeat my question, do you think your post was an honest portrayal

It reminds me of something I read years ago about a newspaper reviewing

Owen, again for your benefit I did not quote the entire interview, but
I have already indicated that.

Would this make you happy?:

Then in a Feb. 1 interview on CNN, Romney told Soledad O'Brien, "I'm
not concerned about the very poor there is already a safety net in
place for them."?

Would that adequately soothe your sensitivities?

What is sooooo very funny about this discussion is how it started with
a really disgusting tirade by Anthony ----- this one if you will
recall:

"If you look at whom liberals have elected over the years, I'm sure,
given the chance, those who frequent this newsgroup would certainly
have voted for the sister of a comedian. After all, they elected a

To which I replied with the "list" that Anthony requested. Here is
that "list" Anthony requested:

"Let's see, how about George W. Bush, you know, the shrub!

No, what you wrote was a LIE. When you intentionally quote someone in a
manner that leads people to believe that person said something other

Okay, so calling politicians what they actually are in a newsgroup they will
never see is the same as calling me, to my face, an idiot or stupid? Tell
me, is Bill Clinton not a philanderer? Is Al Franken not a comedian? Is
Barack Obama not a clown (look at those ears)? You may have an argument with

FWIW, aside from being disrespectful most, if not all, of your

Name calling as humor has a limitied shelf life. It rapidly becomes

Limited shelf life is just that. It does not matter who/what the
subject of that type of humor is. If it is anything it is more
intellect specific than topic specific as there are some bad comedians
that dwell on it then wonder why their audience never grows large.
Calling Bush a Shrub was funny once. By the second or third time it
is boring and a few times after that it is just disrespect. Same
thing for Obama's ears or liberal Intelligence. There are examples
enough on both sides that resorting to that form of humored just
results in a pissing contest. Everyone engaged gets wet and smelly.

Methiks that you overlook the political histoy of the south.

Before the passage of the Civil Rights Act the south was solidly
Democrat. Solid to the point that there were "Yellow Dog Democrats"
which meant that the party could run an old yellow dog against a
Republican and the dog would win.

With the passage of the CRA the political landscape changed overnight.
While very few southerners changed their belief systems they felt that
the Democrats had abandoned them and went Republican en masse. South
Carolina and much of the rest of the south are now Yellow Dog Republican
territory. Sooner or later the cycle will reverse but I don't see a
future of equally balanced (or nearly so) political power in at least my

Officials say the number of people entering the U.S. illegally is
way up and, tragically, the number of undocumented immigrants who
have been found dead in the unforgiving Texas Brush Country is
way up, and is on path this year to beat last year’s record for
the number of people found dead in the ranch country.

Linda Vickers, who owns a ranch in Brooks County, which is Ground

the U.S. illegally.

She recalls one man being arrested on her ranch not long ago.

“The Border Patrol agent was loading one man up, and he told the

Border Patrol agents report that immigrants are crossing the

I actually think this is the way the majority of voters feel about the
issue as is born out by election results of tainted individuals.

However, someone that would lie & cheat on his wife and family would
most certainly cheat on "the public" which he represents. AMEN!

A liar and cheat is nothing more than a liar & a cheat, there is no
getting around it. Whether it is Clinton or the Republican
Congressman in question.

Obviously the voting public does not give a rip either. And that

That is the obvious best course of action but it is extremely
difficult for those in power to admit any fault.

Tricky Dickie could have gotten away with Watergate if he had just
fessed up and done it quickly. He was an extremely popular president
until that incident. I suspect he would have been forgiven as quickly
