O.T. Big Snakes Invade Florida

by the thousands in Florida.
Seems that people got them as pets and they grew
to big to handle, so the turned them loose in the swamps.
They had a picture of one that swallowed a gator and
said they were eating dogs, cats, and deer.
They're the top of the food chain now.
Ol' Bill P. is allways cussin his Fire ants...He might
ought to train them as guards to protect his place
when they get there.....
Carla is waddling around in that 80 deg. water
and he needs to keep a sharp eye out for one.
On second thought, I don't think a snake could
swallow that big arse of his...

You may have missed the news report, but last month a pet python killed a 2
year old toddler.
33 years ago, when I bought my first place on Key Biscayne, iguanas were
unheard of. Now the place is crawling with them.
They, like pythons, don't have natural enemies.

In a sign of just how dominant Fox News is in the cable news network
ratings game, the network easily won the rankings in the first quarter
of 2009, averaging more viewers than competitors MSNBC and CNN combined
— and in the process claimed nine of the top the program spots.
For the quarter, Fox News was the #2 cable channel in prime time,
averaging 2,250,000 total viewers (behind only the USA juggernaut, which
averaged 3,115,000 total viewers). CNN placed 17th with an average of
1,126,000 total viewers, while MSNBC placed 24th, with an average of
950,000 total viewers.
In total day ratings, Fox News ranked 5th among all cable channels in
total viewers, while CNN placed 14th and MSNBC placed 28th.
"The O'Reilly Factor" — which in March celebrated its 100th consecutive
month as cable news' top-rated show — was the #1 cable news program in
Q1, averaging 3.4 million total viewers, a 27% increase over a year ago.
Rounding out the top five were "Hannity" (up 36% over Q1 2008), "Glenn
Beck" (up 90%), "Special Report with Bret Baier" (up 39%), and "On the
Record with Greta Van Susteren" (up 26%). MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith
Olbermann," which came in tenth with 1.3 million total viewers, was the
only non-Fox News show to crack the top ten.
The top ten programs for Q1 are listed below — incidentally, the same
order held for March 2009.

Ummm, cable is cable and much of Network News is broadcast. For example
Fox competes with MSNBC and kicks their ass.
You think Nielsen excludes some because of bias? In that case they may
as well close up shop because there is no news commentator or even
teleprompter reader without bias.

Fox News Comment shows almost always feature guests from the left and
they have many lefties on their staff.
Bob Beckel , Juan Williams, Myra Liason are permanent fixtures on Fox
and even Barney the Frank has been on O'Reilly several times.
Both sides get to unload facts and bullshit. It's up to the discerning
viewer to then do the research to winnow out the detritus from the
nourishing facts.

Trust me. You will be FAR better informed if you watch Fox News. You
can research any information you question as factual.
The Fox competitors simply ignore news they can't put a good spin on and

You are confused. Pointing out hate talk, and outing people who are
hate talkers is a public service, something that a morals-based person
is obligated to do. Spewing hate talk, which the conservatives do on
a regular basis, is a scourge on civilized society. Not all opinions
or viewpoints are good. For example, if you find yourself more
closely aligned with Adolph Hitler, David Koresh, or Tim McVeigh
than you are to Ghandi or Dr. King, then you are probably in the

I usually watch the first half of Lehrer, then ABC, and then the taped Fox
News. IMO it isn't so much an issue of truth vs. untruth, but much more of
what is reported and omitted, plus the subtle spinning to make bad news look
better, or the good news less encouraging.
Fox News is probably the most thorough and the analysis section is quite
comprehensive. Krauthammer exemplifies intelligent news analysis, Kondrake
is your typical fence-sitting moderate, the two PBS voices try to be
intelligent in their comments. Lehrer reports highly selectively with
emphasis on supporting the Left, and Charlie Gibson tries to create the
impression of impartiality, but usually slips up at least once every night.

in detail buy a number of independent outfits both left leaning and
right leaning. Rush, who is supposedly a liar, has a left wing fact
check organization (can't think of the name) and he has a remarkably
high accuracy rating. Not to be confused with his claim to be right
98.6% of the time but they come up close to that number.
J-School teaches that news shows are 100% accurate by nature
(surrrrrreee) so they need no checking. But while the left
consistently claims the top ten are lie filled, they have a hellova
time coming up with examples.
