Seems like politicizing tragedy is a liberal thing, too. I will expect all
of you liberals to bloviate in your self-smug manner how insensitive this
is, if you can see past your hypocrisy.

I do not see your point.

The chances of another hurricane Sandy are in t he same range as
another tornado around Moore OK. All the property that was destroyed
in Sandy will need to be rebuilt in a way to make it through another
equivalent storm. I expect the Jersey shore will look like Nags Head
NC with most "cottages" on 12 ft stilts so the ocean can wash through.
It seems the folks in OK want to rebuild to the same standards, or
lack thereof, that lead to the huge damage bill. In one case the
owners will foot the bill for resistant construction so another mooch
cycle should not occur. In the other the same folks who were
complaining about paying for Sandy damage have no problem rebuilding
to the same poor standards and then holding their hand out the next
time like they did 3 times in the last 20 years.

I am not a fan of making massive changes because of any global
warming. Mostly because I do not see an answer. A lot of crap but no
real answer. OTOH there is no question in the stats that the number
of events is rising. At least part of that is probably because we can
now live in places where the climate is hostile to life. So quite
whining and adapt to it.

It had nothing to do with whether people should rebuild or accept government
funding. The point is, people on here jumped on my case about commenting
that Sgt. Shultz may not know anything about the tornadoes if he didn't read
about it in the newspaper. I was accused of being insensitive and other
worse things. Well, lets hear the same, to use your word, whining, about
this character trying to politicize the tragedy by using it as a global
warming club. At least I'm right and sincere about Sgt. Shultz, whereas
manmade global warming in basically a hoax.
