Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year. As they are working so very
hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all
send them a nice, CHRISTIAN, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little
world.

Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it. Here's the address, just
don't be rude or crude. (It's not the Christian way)

ACLU
125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York, NY 10004

PRINT THIS OUT NOW SO YOU HAVE IT HANDY WHEN YOU START ADDRESSING YOUR

It's odd to me that you see it that way.

Maybe they are trying to keep Christmas from being shoved down
people's throats.

This is a nation of many religions, not all celebrate Christmas.

How would you like it if instead of Christmas displays, you saw Muslim
displays everywhere?

That has already started. I thought you were a traveler. In some places
in the US Muslim calls to prayer can be heard throughout the city. We
are already getting Muslim crap shoved down our throats.

So, you think it's okay to shove Christian down people's throats, but
not Muslim?

Obama is in the White House because he got the majority of votes in the
electoral college.

Maybe we should have a referendum on which religion should deserve the
most space on public property?

I'm sure you would agree with me that it would be the democratic
solution. Each religion would get space based on the number of votes they
garner in the referendum. How much fairer could we be in showing that
we believe in diversity?

If atheists participate in a referendum, we could give them space on
public property too. A bare area with a big question mark in the center.

Waitadamminnit there, sonny - the question mark belongs to us
agnostics. The atheists will just have to settle on one of these:

I think a mirror would be more appropriate for atheists, since when they
look in it they see what they believe to be the most important things in the
universe - themselves. A question mark would be for agnostics.

But whether you like it or not, there is only ONE reason for the season.
And that is Jesus Christ. You may THINK we are a nation of many

Obviously some people didn't get the message.

Missouri Executive Order 44,[1] also known as the "extermination order"
(alt. exterminating order) in Latter Day Saint history, was an executive
order issued on October 27, 1838 by Missouri governor Lilburn Boggs. The
order was in response to what Boggs termed "open and avowed defiance of
the laws, and of having made war upon the people of this State ... the
Mormons must be treated as enemies, and must be exterminated or driven
from the State if necessary for the public peace—their outrages are
beyond all description." The order was formally rescinded in 1976.[2]

Don't be naive, Steve. People have been celebrating pagan holidays
like Yule, Natalis Invicti, Alban Arthan, Saturnalia, winter equinox,
etc. around December 25th for thousands of years.

Christmas is a late comer to the party, so to speak.

Maricopa County, AZ (Phoenix area) was a huge promoter of recycling a
ew years back. They made the cities buy separate 160 Gal. garbage
cans for paper/etc. That was neat until someone followed the recycle
truck to the dump where the stuff was offloaded like normal trash. It
was fraud, just like Al Gore's GloBULL Warming.

Speaking of garbage cans - many of the rural roads here now have these
huge green wheeled monstrosities sitting out within a foot of the
hiway just about everywhere there's a house. Looks like shit, and
really screws up the bucolicness that one used to experience whilst
cruising the GA 2-laners.

Not only that, but when there's more than a pleasant breeze, the
damthings blow over and become obstacles to maneuver around.
Sunzabitches should at least wheel 'em back to the house when they're
empty and the wind's whistling the pines.

Weird, eh?

I don't know what all the fuss is about - I kinda enjoy the snow and
will put up with having to shovel it. The seasons change - it must get
boring to be in the sun all of the time...

But this is a freaky November. Usually by this time we've had our
first heavy snowfall. So far, no snow in the forecast and this sets an
all-time record for the latest we've gone in the year without any

Minnesota had snow several times in early October. Fellow Minnesotans
who left the week after we did drove through snow and
slop in MN-IA-NE & KS. The entire month of October was wet, cold and
miserable in MN. NOW is when they are having October weather.
