We knew that when Reid scheduled a vote. No way would he have taken a
chance if he had not bribed and cajoled the errant sheep back into the fold
so he was guaranteed his 60 votes.
Obama would have been greatly embarrassed and Harry would probably have
had a stroke and not survived.

Both political parties are rotten to the core. It would be
interesting to see neither of those politicians vote for the bill and
Louisiana miss out on that $100-million dollars as a result of the
bill not passing.
It might also be interesting if the bill fails because Vitter doesn't
vote for it and Louisiana misses out on that $100 million.

They would get their business done a lot faster and lobbyists couldn't
buy their votes. Each critter would be given $2,000,000 to campaign
with out of
a fund contributed by their home states. Not another dime would be
allowed. No advertising other than what they could buy with their $2
million.
Anyone breaking the rules would be moved to a barren island to meditate
on their crime.
Conjugal visits every other weekend would be my only concession. Booze
would be rationed.

Apparently all, of their votes, for a bad bill, can be had if they get
the money, for their favorite special interests.
Whatever the bill is to all American Citizens, they are willing to
triple it, to fill the coffers etc, of their special interests.
I wonder if the newspapers and news services will publish the names of
these bought Congressmen and waiting to be bought Senators?
They need to know that their political future is gone.
Everyone must remember who is doing us and our Children in.
We need health care reform but not this.
Landreau, of Louisiana, is a perfect example of who not to vote for. Her
District may applaud it but the rest, of America, shouldn't give her the
time of day.
Don't vote to reelect any of these, for sale, people.

As I recall Landreau was half the reason LA did not get a lot of the
help they wanted after the hurricane. She was playing politics rather
than doing her side of the work. It seemed her theory was we should
just give them money with no questions asked.

Absolutely on target. Some time ago, politics turned elections into a
bribery contest with each party offering goodies for votes without regards
to affordability. This has always been the danger of a fiat money supply in
that you can create the illusion of having your cake and eating it too.
In most cases, it's like breaking a pinata open only to find the supposed
prizes are tainted with radioactive booby prizes with half lives of 10,000
years.
I used to want to know what's after the number trillion, but now it isn't
important, because if that number is needed it won't matter.

Right now Canadians and many other socialized health care victims are
coming to the US for medical care their nation's governments do not deem
appropriate. Why are we so headstrong in modeling a failed idea?

It's all about controlling people so they keep voting for a party that
will take care of them from cradle to grave.
Just as FDR used the Great Depression to advance his socialist policies
and keep the Democrats in power, Obama and his
crew are using the present crisis (and deliberately making it worse) to
advance their agenda.
Nothing could be more obvious but those who voted for him will never
admit to his motives.

The worst part of all this is that the world he is creating is so shitty
that there is absolutely no satisfaction in saying "I told you so."
I wonder whether Giddings is reconsidering his advocacy.
Also wonder how he feels about the intellectual dishonesty of his
favorite newspaper, the New York Times, who now claims the moral high
ground and not publish the hacked climate non-change e-mails -- while
having no qualms about betraying national secrets at every opportunity.

You can't trust the bastards. They will drop anything required to get
passage and then add it later bit by bit or have a bureaucrat interpret the
bill as they see fit. Naturally they wrote a bill asking for twice what
they hope to achieve and then laugh all the way home as they make
"concessions"
they never expected to get in the first place.
Reminds me of my Army supply budget. Figure out what you need, double
it and submit it. You get half of what you asked for which is exactly
what you
planned for.
