They say there may be tens of thousands of these dangerous alien pest in
Florida.
Simple economics of a 100.00 bounty on Boa Constrictors and Pythons
would solve the problem.
Even if there is 10,000 of them that is only one million dollars. that
is drop in the bucket in today's economy.
20,000 of them would only be two million dollars.
No further delays in implementing any strategies in their elimination
would make the goal attainable.
Further delay would make it more costly, more difficult and perhaps
improbable.
So what if it added a million or two million dollars a year to Florida's
budget or the US budget for a decade. Many billions of dollars in
ecological damage would be prevented.
these things are a danger to Citizens, livestock and our domestic wildlife.
If they wait long enough these things might acclimate themselves as far
north as Washington DC, Tidewater, or even beyond.
When will the Politicians pay attention: when they have to close a
school to locate a Boa Constrictors that have eaten a second grader, in
Florida or DC or Atlanta???
