Well it looks like I will be working on my salt water skills this
summer. The hook is 30 miles closer to my house then the steam I like
the best ( bfb) so with the gas prices I will be heading south.
anyone else making changes this summer do to the price of gas?

It definitely makes "subsistence" fishing harder. :-)

Yeah. Instead of coming home from Maine each week-end to change my
underwear, I'll be staying in camp the entire month. I should be ripe
by the end of June. Hell, I should be ripe by the first week in June.

How about commercial fishermen ... like Silver Creek Outfitters .... think
their clientele will be cutting back on private jet flights to Ketchum and
$400/day 'guides' to peer over their shoulders and tell them how wonderful
they are ? Well, one can hope <G>

for comparison the Chevron here in mytowncalifoniausa had diesel at
$4.99.9/gal today

.... at about 10 miles/ gallon towing and 1000 miles to Jellystone ..... um,
let's not think about it ...

maybe I can just find a way to pass on the debt to my kid ( I'll start
trying to think Republican ;-)

I'm hoping to. My cabin renovation, which consumed nearly my entire last
season, is finished. I have a trip to Alaska in late August -- floating
the Kisaralik with my best fishing friends. When I get back to Stanley,
soon, I'll outfit my popup camper and head for various places. Who
knows? Maybe we'll run across one another.

June is the best time for the Big Wood, Larry. Green Drakes. It will
probably be late this year.
