Try a half hitch tool!
Holds just enough paint to make 2-4 eyes and does a really NEAT job!
To this date I have not heard of anyone using this method. Let me know
what you think!

I'll stick with the "old" way. I don't like cleaning paint offa my half
hitch tools.

I dunked 4 dozen in yellow laquer yesterday...used tweezers and
then rolled them on wax paper, then red dots with an 8p finishing
nail head.
Was a pain in the ass...but they look cool.

Poisonally, I thank TBone jest like da smell o dat lacquer!!!!!
Okay, a couple of suggestions.....
Stick the eyes into an old pocket comb and use a binder clip attached to the
comb to stand it up....paint the base color then come back aftyer it's dry and
do the pupils.
For those that are "hair challenged" and don't have a comb around (bitter
remindr of days past), try a piece of corrugated cardboard- cut a slot in
every other corrugation, about 1/2 inch long and push eyes down into the
slots- you can even spray the base coat on if you're lazy....but they might
stick!

Take a piece of 1/4 inch dowel (or pencil stub?)maybe 3 inches long.
Using a pencil sharpener, reduce the diameter of the ends to match the
desired iris and pupil diameters. Then just dip the end into the paint
and away you go. Single, cheap, easily made tool creates consistent
results.

What universal law is it that states that just after doing something
difficult, you learn of an easier way to do it ?
