Good to have blankets instead of a bag if possible. It's hard, though not
impossible, to get in and out of a hammock while in a bag.
If you go with blankets, a blanket underneath is a necessity.
Also, you're obviously more exposed to unexpected inclement weather - and
dew.

Yeah,the diagonal thing seems to be important,i have a hammock with a bug
net,but if not on the diagonal there seems to be discomfort with feet
elevated,have a fly too but yet to test in bad weather....some tout these as
the be all and end all in sleeping out,but like a lot of things it seems to
turn out a little differently in practice...
