Greetings to the list!

I have a somewhat unusual request. I will be taking an intermediate Latin
class next year, having taken the introduction class last year (2002-2003,
not 2003-2004). I'm going over my notes as well as my old textbook, trying
to regain the knowledge that has slipped out of my mind in the intervening
year.

The problem I'm having is that there are 20 lessons in the book, and we only
covered 14 of them in class. I am hoping to cover all 20 lessons this
summer, if I can. (It's been three weeks, and I've already finished ten
lessons). In and of itself, this would not be a problem, except that in the
book there are no answers to the exercises (sentence translations, Latin to
English).

Therefore, my request (in a roundabout way) is this, and it's for anyone out
there who understands Latin passably well: I would like for someone to
verify my answers to the exercises we didn't cover in class. This would be
six sets (hopefully) of twenty sentences each. I will probably be ready to
start doing this in a week or two.

I am willing to barter for services, if requested.

Thanks so much!

S.V.B.E.V. If you post the Latin originals here with your translation,
I am sure the combined brain power of the Rialto will be able to
critique, and where necessary correct, your answers. On the other
hand, if you insist on bartering, what do you have to offer?

As Gladius said, posting on the Rialto would
both share the load and likely get you more help than
you need! But you might also ask on <alt.language.latin>,
a helpful newsgroup with a commendably high signal-to-noise
ratio.

I'll check that out, thank you. I didn't even know such a group existed.

I hadn't even thought of that (silly me!). It sounds like posting them to
the Rialto is the way to go.

In terms of barter, my hobbies at the moment are early-period costuming
(c.10-11th century) and bardic. Also, if anyone is going to Pennsic, I'm
willing to offer my services as babysitter or doing chores around camp.

Thanks!
