'Not seen, not known' - Dr Cyril Gripper
This famous remark of Dr. Cyril Gripper has stood the test of time, and in my view, remains indefensible. Problems of perception in the post-Cartesian world are often blamed for a lack of insight into the nature of being to some extent on Professor Harland's magnum opus, 'Waht is 'What'?' and the later work on mechanistic dualism, 'Who... more »

Demand that Obama release his college records! Where is the media?
Why is it important to see Obama's college records? Because the media has created fantasies around Obama on every issue. You should start dispelling them with the easiest one, i.e. the fantasy of Obama's "academic degrees and honors". Obama has been fighting desperately to block all access to his college... more »

Faraday was a "Charlatan and a Fraud"
...[cut: though not unkindly!] ...I think you know. Scientists marry late. Passion for a dishy bird substitutes science; the children become an increasing attraction as they become less smelly and noisy; then become an absolute delight! Demands on time exclude reading papers; crosswords prove more attractive; change the world becomes maintain the world, instead.... more »

Are we giving too much weight to IQ?
People don't score significantly lower on IQ tests after damage to the frontal cortex, even if the frontal cortex is the center for much of the higher intellectual processing in the brain. This is probably related to that IQ tests measures the ability to find single valid solutions, rather than to find the best solutions from a... more »

BURT - Questions!!!
BURT / Mitch; Rather then posting endless blurts of crap, why don't you explain a few things and prove to us that you do understand at least some of the laws of physics? (1) Compare and contrast Phonons and Photons. (2) What is the speed of electricity? Hint - could be considered a trick question.... more »

Passing through every quantity
When there is a continuous change there is a passage through every quantity. This applies in the calculus of physics. There can pass through different sizes of infinity of the infinitely small at the same rate. This is speed through distance. The limit for speed is light speed. You can pass through the same size infinity of the infinitely small... more »
