It seems everywhere you look now, you see or hear something about
swingers. Swinging is what was once referred to as “wife swapping”,
involving couples who exchange spouses for sexual trysts. Swinger
clubs have appeared in cities just about anywhere. In Montreal,
Canada, there’s even one club in a major nightlife zone whose signage
makes no bones what it’s about. The thing is, even though swingers
have their own places to practice their lifestyle, a large number of
them frequent nudist venues as well. Now, true nudism isn’t about sex
in the least, but swingers are tolerated amongst us so as long they’re
not using our clubs for “recruitment”! We’re constantly spouting to
the media about how wholesome our lifestyle is, so we don’t want
anything to taint our reputation or scare new members away forever.
Usually, you wouldn’t know that a couple is of the swinging
persuasion, but there are some amongst them who are virulent! This
editor remembers that my most ugly encounter with swingers happened a
few years ago at serene Cypress Cove, a resort known for its family
values. The male of a swinger couple made known his interest for my
beautiful girlfriend, acting lewdly in full view of many. We paid him
no heed and went off to the restaurant for dinner, and next thing you
know, this idiot is at the restaurant window with his female companion
looking in and pointing us out to her. I’ll cut the story short here,
but needless to say, the randy chap was warned to behave and he did,
but the incident put a damper on our stay. I also recall one time
while we were relaxing on Haulover beach in Miami when a fellow was
handing out flyers advertising a new swingers club. We’re nudists,
damn it, not sex maniacs!! Nudist Day has this message for swingers:
do as you please on your own turf, but when on ours…Check your
sexuality at the door!
