A few months ago I ran across a disgusting photo of a moon shot being
taken of patrons at a nudist resort some where in America. These
people were all old , fat, & ugly. All I can say is yuck. Why are a
lot of club owners so bent on taking photos of moon shots?

I just don't get why nudism is so important, or what is so great about
it, especially when so many nudist are so old & out of shape. I have
not run across this photo again. It may have been on clothesfree.com,
& from California, but I am not sure. I am certain some here will
disagree, but that is ok. Enough for now.

Hi forex10,

My ex-girlfriend said to me that 'it's what's inside that counts' is used by
people who care not about their physical appearance or hygeine.

Nudism isn't about appearance but the feeling you get from being naked in
the great outdoors. I think that a lot more needs to be done to encourage
the young, trim and taut to enjoy it and be ambassadors for it (like Danee
Kane).

But if you think that was bad enough, I saw a photo of some local nudist
guys in TAN magazine posed behind a barbed-wire fence with their dicks
hanging right over it. Completely stupid photo - this is the sort of thing
that causes nudists to be treated as an inside joke.

I don't see the need for 'moon' shots to be put on naturist pages when it is
about accepting the *WHOLE* body and not dedicated to drawing attention to
any single part, especially those that are not usually seen in everyday
life.

That sounds like something you'd see on MTV's "Jackass" -- especially if the
fence was electrified.

Now that I think of it, I'll bet people would pay good money to see this.

What bothers me is how many nudists seem to have a butt fixation.

You know like bare buns fun runs. Yeah, I get it rhymes but it also
puts the focus of one's attention upon a certain body part instead of
the lifestyle.

And don't get me started about "Weenie Roasts". Nudists are just
asking for it there.

(You could have the same event but just call it a cookout).

That is why I try not to be not to be judgmental. That and nudism
isn't supposed to be about Seeing other naked people. Sure you are
going to see other naked people but the purpose is supposed to be
about the feel you have without being clothes and not about looking at
the naked people around you.

If you are so concerned about how the people around you look you
aren't there for the appropriate reasons anyway.

In fact having old ugly fat people is a good way of keeping those out
who would otherwise be there for the wrong reasons. If I was at a
place with mostly attractive people I would be more worried about the
intent of the people there.

It is a good way to keep the "less than perfect" people out. In this
sense of the word "perfect" I mean those without ill intent.

If you are bothered by the look of the people around you then you
aren't there for the reasons you are supposed to be.

Oh. yeah, ask Cyndiann. You can't imagine the fetishes that some
people would spend good money on. There are some out there who even
like to be peed and crapped upon, but not all dominiatrixes even would
go that far and provide that service.

The photo sound like a very crude photo indeed. If it was indeed in a
real nudist magazine then that would indeed reflect very poorly upon
nudism.

And nudism isn't supposed to be about other people. It is supposed to

As a human being who happens to be a naturist I feel that many people
whether naked or clothed are less attractive than others; that is
life. Of course when we see images of people naked it is nicer to see
attractive well looked after bodies. That is why many Naturist Videos
and Magazines tend to feature more attractive younger naturists than
older or less attractive ones; I class myself the older less
attractive category and I would not want to be photographed in a
naturist or other publication as an advocate for naturism.

I will continue to be a naturist hopefully until I'm no longer able to
and seeing my body I am aware that I need to take some steps to keep
it looking as best I can. I do feel "put off" when I see pictures of
old fat people in the buff and would probably feel the same about a
picture of me in the buff. People posing to shown off their bums or
penises is just plain disgusting, natural poses which happen to show
those parts of the body are not.

Having said all this I defend the right of older less attractive (even
ugly!) people to be naturists and admire them for their convictions.
There are some who decide to stop being naturists when they get older
just becuase they feel that they no longer look good. Most us the
wrong side of 50 (over even 60) just don't care and that's the way it
should be.

Oh Zee you mistaken yet again. Officially produced videos from
organisations in the UK like BN or H&E tend to feature maimly people
in their 20's and 30's. They will also show some older naturists but
rarely if ever show children. Those from Eastern Europe are most
often plain pornography. Of course there are some people who will buy
"naturist" videos to jack off to just as there are people (perhaps a
few who contribute to rec.nude) who lurk on the fringes of naturist
areas to jack off. We don't like it but we know it happens, sadly it
is the likes of them that give naturism a bad name and discourage
people from discovering the nicer side. I have never bought any
naturist books or videos.

Rec.nude may be originate from the USA but it is an open forum with
contributors from the UK, Australia and elsewhere in the world. I
have noticed you posting in uk.rec.naturist which too is an open
forum.

I have long periods when I don't look at these forums because I have
in the past been disgusted or felt totally adrift from some of the
views expressed. When a thread interests me I may post to it if only
to wind you up which is ever so easy.

Bye for now and may be forever (you wish).

The thing is though, does deceptive advertising work? How about if someone
was to buy a nudist magazine or video with a very athletic person on the
cover and then open it up and see all these fat middle-aged to old people in
it?

Yes, I agree with that. All it does is fetishise the human body whereas
naturism is about normalising it. It's like a photo I once saw in TAN of an
American woman at a convention where she was smoking a cigarette in a main
street and wearing a pair of crotchless leather pants, and yet the editor
said on ABC radio that he didn't believe that people should have the right
to display themselves in public and only keep it in agreed company. Talk
about shooting yourself in the foot.

Going into your 40's, 50's and beyond is no excuse to neglect your body or
your looks. This is probably one of the reasons why young people do not
respect their elders anymore. They ought to look to older people to aspire
to and revere, and instead they just laugh at them because of the elder's
lack of self-pride.
Maybe some psychological research could be done into this?

I meant that the group "REC.NUDE" probably started in the USA and the
majority of the contributions certainly come from the USA but it is an
open group with contributors from across the globe. Yes I come from
the UK, Dario Western from Australia, David Looser from the UK. We
all speak and write English and the attitudes on the part of the
authorities towards naturism do seem to be much the same in English
speaking countries. Naturists the world over would like to see a
wider acceptance of body freedom together with a more relaxed and
healthier attitude towards nudity in society. Within that spectrum we
have differing views and depending on circumstances different
lifestyles.

Zee you have lost the point of Dario's comment - it has nothing to do
disrespecting elders. All he said was that growing older was no
excuse for letting yourself go. In the US especially and the UK, I
don't know about Australia, there are a lot of people who are much
bigger than they should be. The vaste majority of overweight people
have become that way through a combination of lack of exercise and
over eating. Even if your metabolism leaves you prone to put on
weight you can keep yourself a reasonable shape by taking action
yourself. Simply eat a balanced diet, consuming only enough to keep
you healthy and take some exercise.

If you don't do this you will die sooner, set a bad example to the
younger generation and look much worse than you would have done had
you taken care of yourself. I know that there are some larger people
who say "Fat (big) is beautiful" but neither Dario nor I can
understand that view point. For us trim and fit will always be
better. As for piercings and tatoos yes I personnally dislike them;
tatoos especially because they cannot easily be reversed when the
wearer doesn't want them anymore.

I'm over 60 and about 10 pounds (4.5kg) heavier than I would like
despite eating sensibly and exercising regularly. If I didn't take
action I would soon be 20 pounds heavier, look disgusting and feel
unwell. What is more than disgusting than a fat stomach wobbling over
a waistband. Ask the medics if you don't believe us. Obesity is one
of the main causes of ill health and it is self inflicted through
lifestyle. A man or woman of my age who has taken care of themselves
can still look good naked even if not as attractive they did in their
20's/30's. Looking good is part of being healthy. Sadly we see
plenty of young fat people, when they get older......

maybe a reason why young folks do not RESPECT....UH...ER ...DO NOT
RESPECT...these older folks.....do you get it...was there not a better
word to use...in the usa respect is due everyone that is not offensive
and certainly overweight folks do not meet the criteria of being
offensive ...as i am not offended by the male earrings i was just
hoping someone would explain why......and by the way i am about 8 lbs
over what i would like to weight....so i am not an extremely
overweight person with a hatred for the ones that are not......we all
understand why folks are fat but the older ones have a reason because
many of them had to eat more in their early lives because of a
different demand situation....regards...jz

Not very many, unless you count the European ones like E-nature and
Body-n-Mind. Then again, some (not all) people who buy the merchandise from
those sites are not really interested in taking part in nudism.

10 pounds (4.5kg) is nothing. Have you seen the television Program called
"The Biggest Loser? The people on that show are up to 400 pounds! That is
what the United States is heading towards as the norm.

Oh, yes, some will. You can certainly find those out there who do
provide that "service".

But some stop before that. I don't believe Cyndiann does that stuff

I never claimed I would not. But at least I try to stay in shape, &
try to delay the aging process as much as possible.

Even if the people being photoged were young & in good shape I would
not agree with it.
