Hi!

I also like to work in an office where you can be naked? Can you let
me know? Do you work nude in your work place?

I can think of lots of ways to improve workplace morale: free fruit,
bagel Wednesdays, 15-minute desk massages, flexible schedules. But
declaring one go-nude day each week? That's what one workplace is
doing, and, um, I'm at a loss for words...

****
Business psychologist David Taylor was called in to help a marketing
firm in England, where workers were feeling pretty low after a round
of layoffs. The remedy for the employee blues? He told them the
solution was simple: Strip down and get naked together.

(I'm thinking of an old co-worker from ages ago and shuddering at this
very second.)

"Inviting an organization to go naked is the most extreme technique
I've used," Taylor said to The Telegraph recently. "It may seem weird
but it works. It's the ultimate expression of trust in yourself and
each other."

All but a few of the office staff agreed to join in on "Naked
Fridays"--except for one man, and two women who kept their underwear
on, thankyouverymuch.

One of the--female--workers said this: "It was brilliant. Now that
we've seen each other naked, there are no barriers. We weren't put
under pressure. If we wanted to come in clothed or in our underwear,
we could. But I love my body and wasn't ashamed."

I'm sorry. I just find this wrong--on so many levels.

Work Naked

By Anonymous (not verified) on Wed, 01/24/2007 - 6:03am.

I am very lucky that I run my own company and I work naked most days.
I believe the freedom to work naked produces better quality work and
happier employees. At present I work alone but as we expand the
company my policy is to allow all staff to work naked either at home
or in the office.

Work Naked in the office?

How does that work and do you need a network engineer. I would love to
have a job where clothing was optional, it sucks having to be all
dressed up all the time. Especially inside.

I work nude at home full time
0 Up Down
By Joan (not verified) on Fri, 03/09/2007 - 5:29pm.

I am a 28 year old woman that grew tired of commuting to the office so
I started my own Internet business. I have worked at home while I am
completely nude everyday of the week, all year long for the past 3
years. Even though I live in the middle of the city I have a private
backyard and I order groceries online so I have found that I can be a
full-time nudist. I no longer have laundry to do and I have forgotten
what it feels like to wear shoes as I am barefoot 24/7. I have my own
gym equipment in my house for exercise and I have found that I have no
reason to ever leave my own property or put clothes on for any reason
- if my neighbors only knew. I could never go back to wearing clothes
again on a job - welcome to the 21st century office.

For years, I'd write naked and the reduction in laundry was very
pleasant. But there was also just something freeing about it and I
enjoyed the freedom to do so. I'm married and have an adult daughter
living at home, so I can't do this but occasionally these days. I'm
looking forward to the daughter eventually moving out so I can do this
during the days again.

services for those working in the nude
0 Up Down
By Jon (not verified) on Mon, 10/01/2007 - 5:55am.

when people come to your house, say to do you accounting, tech
support, package delivery, deliver water, etc. would it be an
incentive if some of the services were provided by naturist-friendly
individuals, or people who don't just take the shoes off when they
come in, but take it all off? and if people would go for this, where
would a computer professional advertise to do the outreach. i live in
toronto, and i do web development (and some networking and computer
support) and thought this might be a niche market, or is it really
super common out there and not worth pursuing?

NUDE AT HOME IS OK - TRY NUDE AT THE OFFICE!
0 Up Down
By Refenza (not verified) on Thu, 06/19/2008 - 8:03pm.

Hi, I am fascinated by your post and also troubled by one element of
it. Firstly, my own interest in this. I enjoy being nude and do so
whenever I can. I was working late last night in our CBD office and,
once the cleaners had been and the security guy had done his rounds, I
was nude. I worked like that for several hours. There was nobody else
working in the other offices on our floor so I was able to stay nude
when going to the kitchen or the restroom. I just have to listen out
for the lifts, but I have only had to do a quick dash for the clothes
on a handful of occasions. I don't want to offend anyone and in more
than a few years have only once been caught (when in another city)
when I was a bit slack. Fortunately, the young guy involved was very
understanding.

The thing that troubled me about your post was that it sounded like
you never leave your home. I applaud your commitment to an alternative
lfestyle, but it sounds like you should really get out more!! There
are plenty of places that you can get naked, with a little bit of
inventiveness and awareness. There are places, like nude beaches,
where it is all legal and so you can relax. But part of the fun in
being nude elsewhere is that you shouldn't be!

Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy the marvellous feeling of freedom
that nudity brings.

Cheers. :-)

The dirty naked truth about teleworkers
0 Up Down
By Tom Mulhall (not verified) on Thu, 01/25/2007 - 12:18pm.

Owning the Terra Cotta Inn nudist resort in sunny Palm Springs, CA I
have known about this phenomenon for years. I would say 80% of our
guests bring their laptops here and work at the poolside nude. They
all comment that it is the most fun part of having to be plugged into
the office.

And our guests all say when they are at home working and the kids
aren't around, they work nude. It gives them a feeling of freedom for
being forced to work on their own time.

And yes, I am just wearing a smile as I type this.

My wife and I enjoyed a 10-day stay recently at the Terra Cotta Inn in
Palm Springs, while vacationing, and we found the high-speed Wi-Fi
service that Tom and Mary Clare provide to be excellent. A perfect
setting for nude laptops and people.

Being a software engineer I work naked every day from my home. When I
travel I stay at nudist resorts (when possible) and have no need for
video conference. Life in the 21st century is awesome, and as more
people homeschool and work from home, traditional offices will become
optional when employers realize the benefits people get from
telecommuting.

living naked

By Anon on Fri, 06/19/2009 - 4:00pm.

The only time I put anything at all on is when I leave the property. I
live naked and my family and friends totally accept it - in fact some
have also changed over to the feel. I am lucky with where I live in
that I can be naked outside around the house. When I do ware something
it is always as little as possible - do not even own underware.

This was news a while ago but it now passed its date. For those who
do not come from the UK - it doesn't happen here, except this once so
don't get excited or think of becoming yet another illegal immigrant.

Tell your boss you want to tele-commute to save the global warming world
from destruction. Then when you are working from home get used to
concentrating while naked and work that way. When the boss makes a video
conference call, just forget to put on a shirt and see what the boss says.
If the naked top is OK, eventually work up the courage to get up from the
desk to go fetch your cell phone or something and "forget" you are not
wearing pants. If the boss doesn't object, you can then try to do some work
at the office in a seriously casual dress code, and see how far you can go.
Maybe you'll eventually be able to work naked in your cubicle and others
will follow your leadership?

Speaking for our office, if a gal gets a "hot flash" she is definitely
entilted to be naked, for me, over 80F I'm naked, and the A/C comes
on at 85-90F, but I keep a set of shorts and a shirt for because some
people could be offended by nudity, that may stop in.
Natural comfort is the factor that's important.
I find women have a tendency to be naked, cuz they have hot flashes
and carry more body fat, so it's important for their health that gals
are given the freedom to adopt to heat.
Generally speaking naked women are usually regarded with esteem,
but I think an exposed male penis can be distracting.

Other people we know work nude but keep a housecoat at reach, most
people
look respectable in a housecoat, when a stranger stops in.
Up in canuckistan, we're aclimatized to cold so 80F is hot, I sweat in
boxers,
right now it's nice and cool, here's a pic of me in my new office,

The original piece related to a documentary on UK Channel 4 TV in the
spring of 2009 which told about a Newcastle (England North East)
Advertising Consultancy which was going through a difficult time.
They brought in a psychologist to help them work better together. As
a bonding exercise on the final day of the week he asked them to work
nude in order to break down barriers. For them this was a one off
experience, some of them did work nude and others in their underwear.
Afterwards they said that it had been fun and yes it had broken down
barriers, after that they carried on working dressed as normal. It
was an experiment in team bonding which worked to an extent but is not
likely to be repeated especially in the UK climate.

For home workers, in some health spas and nude resort offices it may
be routine however in more typical work places it is unlikely to catch
on no matter how warm it gets.
