Warning: Nudity :P

I love this picture. The coloring on the wings looks like stained glass.
This artist is very good at capturing the essence of the female body, while
throwing in a bit of nature and fantasy. Wow. :)

Other pics on that page I like alot are: bv32 and bv65

Oh yeah. Artists name is Boris Vallejo. Very cool stuff. :)

That might be because he traces. :) No kidding. We've got a book on the
techniques of Boris Vallejo in which he demonstrates his techniques step by
step, and he traces first from photograph. Not to denigrate his talents,
because he's exceptionally good (in my opinion) at capturing skin tone
through color--tracing won't help you there. The woman in that particular
illustration is a frequent Vallejo woman. We think it's his wife (they did
a collaborative work once--she wrote the stories that he illustrated). He
uses himself in most of his male shots. Boris is the total bodybuilder. :)

Here is some possibly redundant info for you, but even if you already know
all the artists, maybe I'll give you a link you haven't. :)

If you like representational fantasy art like Boris does, you might like
Michael Whelen, if you're not already up on him. http://www.glassonion.com/
Or Luis Royo http://fantasyart.res.mogilev.by/royo/royo.htm# (at that same
site, if you aren't already familiar, check out Rowena! Julie Bell does
some good stuff, but overall she's not my favorite. She gives good metal,
but not as good as Sorayama, who's one of the best air brushers I've ever
seen. And who is -really- into Cindy Crawford.)

Slightly more fantastic (in the sense that they're less realistic), Frank
Frazetta http://www.frankfrazetta.com/ff/index.html
Brian Froud http://www.worldoffroud.com/
My current favorite--Tony Diterlizzi http://diterlizzi.com/

Two of Steve's favorites:
Brom http://www.cale.com/brom/
Phil Hale (can't find a direct link, but
http://www.grantbooks.com/Double-Memory.html discusses a book he
collaborated on with Rick Berry. We have the triptych of illos. he did for
the limited edition Stephen King's _Insomnia_.)

For general chuckles, you might head here
http://home.interstat.net/~slawcio/artsf.html and browse to your heart's
content. Lots and lots of stuff.

Really, really good books for fantasy art fans are the _Spectrum_ series.
These are annual collections of the best in fantastic art. You can find 'em
at Barnes and Nobles and suchlike.

As a fan of comic books I've had the pleasure of seeing Boris' work for years
now. The guy is great, though I like Julie Bell's work more. She did a Rogue
that I use to have as my wallpaper for the longest time.
