Hi,

Does anybody have music recommendations, besides Tori Amos for a Tori Amos
fan? I've been out of touch lately and was wondering if there was something
else out there which is just as unique.

Thanks

-Richard

That's kind of wide open. What similarities are you after? Piano?
Female vocalist? (The two that spring to mind).

I realy enjoy:

SUE REED with JASUN MARTZ. - Whose Hat Covers That Sundial?

http://snipurl.com/23wvx [www_amazon_com]

This was recorded in the 1970s but just released last year.

Ms. Reed is a singer/songwriter/piano player with a great voice and
evocative lyrics (sound familiar?).

Jasun Martz produces and plays bass & drums, and melotron on some
cuts.

Here's the one review on Amazon:

***************************
Sue Reed has an amazing, penetrating voice, and she is also a
brilliant pianist. Her songwriting is intricate and beautiful, with
elements of high emotion and sometimes macabre content. Fans of Harry
Potter and other paranormal cultural manifestations will surely enjoy
Reed's wonderfully nuanced and poignant songs. "Spellbinding" is a
very apt word for this superb set of songs. Jasun Martz lends a hand
with his own virtuosic and endlessly imaginative support on mellotron,
bass, and drums. Sue Reed is also a fine painter...she created the
artwork on the cover of the CD.

***************************

I really, really like it.

I would recommend Kate Bush.

I thought of her, but she's been performing for over two decades
and I thought it likely that the OP would have already heard of
her.

On the piano end, I remain a fan of Bruce Hornsby (and his concerts
are fun, go see one if you can), but again he's been performing for
over two decades.

But she did only 8 albums in 20 years, the last one in 2003 after 12 years,
so there still could be some people who don't know her. ;-)
