* Tony Bennett talking (not singing, TGFSF), telling us all what Joni
thinks, feels and experiences regarding her music, her painting
and her life. Who'd have guessed that *Tony*Bennett* got the
privilege of falling into the "Being Joni Mitchell" portal?
* The people who *weren't* there: Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette,
Neil Young (all fellow Canadians); David Crosby and Graham Nash
(early associates who were both influential and influenced);
Judy Collins. Tori would have been an excellent addition;
likewise Indigo Girls or Tracy Chapman or Melissa Etheridge, or
even Jewel. I guess Bob Dylan and Van Morisson wouldn't have
come, but it seems like they should've been there. Oh, well...

I was knocked right out of my puny worries and glued myself to the
couch when I caught the last hour. Thank the IPU TNT had enough sense
to show it again. Come to think of it, I didn't hear -anything- about
it before I was greeted with Hillary Clinton on a big screen, spewing
old memories of Bill and herself gaily strolling though Chelsea...

It was great seeing their interaction through the entire show. When
everything is juxtaposed things fit into place.

I know this is irrelevant, but she is stunning. Seeing a musician
perform gives a you a special kind of respect for them. It makes
their art so much more concrete.

One of the better cable tribute shows I've seen, and hope to catch it
the next time it's on.
