Badlands was always one of my favorite Springsteen songs, and I always
thought it was underrated. Teri Gross interestingly pointed out on her
radio show that the beat is so driving that it's actually a march, and I
think that it is probably in 2:2 time. I believe those details are
virtually unheard of in rock and roll.
Backstreets and Promised Land are two others that I think were under-
appreciated, but then it is Springsteen and pretty much everything was
dwarved by Born to Run.
