Debut Songs on Billboard -- December 20, 1975

We've reached the weekend once again, and that means it's time for me
to add another entry into the exercise of questionable taste and
dubious integrity I call my blog. Yes, that sounds a little overboard,
but when I named it "70s Music Mayhem" I wasn't really expecting
something largely serious. In it, I review all the songs that debuted
on a particular Billboard Hot 100. This week's chart is from December
20, 1975. Here's a link:

Bill Withers - "Make Love to Your Mind"
The Eagles - "Take it to the Limit"

Linda Ronstadt - "Tracks of My Tears"

One #1 song, another that hit #2, a couple others that have joined
them on the constant rotation for AOR radio stations, a holiday song
that really wasn't intended to be one, an instrumental, a tune that
buries Bill Withers' voice and a couple of country hits.

one of my absolute favorites by Conway is Don't Cry Joni. No chance
you'd ever hear that on the radio today be it country or so-called
oldies formatted stations. The only song on that list I still hear is
The Eagles Take It To The Limit... 50 Ways gets played once in a very
blue moon.

The Eagles record is the only one here that I even remotely liked at
that time.
