You've stumped me again, Nick.

BTW, I play a ballroom dance gig every Tuesday, in which we have to mix in
tangos, sambas, etc. To keep from getting repetitious by playing so many of
the standard tunes that are in those styles, I've adapted many other songs
to fit, and we do "Goldfinger" as a tango. It works great and that sort of
thing makes the gig more fun.

Goldfinger: The Original Motion Picture Score was a hit LP in 1964 and I
remember ordering it from Murdoch's record shop in Southampton.

Always considered the best of the Bond songs, Goldfinger was recently
usurped by Live and Let Die in a poll.

Goldfinger Tango! - I know Guitar Tango by The Shadows - The Shadows are
England's answer to The Ventures!

That dodgy recording was a jazzy number called The Blacksmith Blues.

There was a Blacksmith Blues by Ella Mae Morse in 1952 - big hit.

"The Blacksmith Blues is a song which was written for Ella Mae Morse by Jack
Holmes. The arrangement was created by Billy May and Nelson Riddle"

Interesting.
I wonder if Billy and Nelson slid down poles and went out crimefighting as
masked wonders, lol?

To the YouTubes!

Ella's very good and 10 years later a Yorkie recorded it - that's a clew!
:-D
