OT!: Jim Capaldi - That's Love - 1983

[Uni]

Jim was Traffic's drummer, late '60's to early '70's. As a whole,
Traffic failed to score any Top 40 Hits in the US, but as soloist, at
least Jim and Steve Winwood scored better. This song came and fell off
the US charts in little time at #28, but still a decent song with a fair
amount of airplay! Don't think Jim had a Greatest Hits LP/CD, being a
One Hit Wonder, but his albums have been issued on CD. Oddly, the
Album/CD with this hit song, when I last looked, was not easy to find! I
believe it's been reissued by at least Wounded Bird Records!
Stereophonic sound became less impressive entering in the '70's. More
tape tracks were available, so to fit everything in, the Stereo
approached Monophonic sound. Technology took a step backwards...

Great song IMO!! This was released on Atlantic and the sound is
actually horrible on that single. Not sure if the LP was any better.

Is there really an 80's group now???? I know "we've" tried for years
to get one going and it always got voted down.

Giganews and Easynews, at a minimum, both carry it, but may not be
"official", whatever that means.

Newsguy has 40 posts in the group, from October, 2005, to now,
and over half of them are spam.

As for "official", the following is from a post in the group
dated September 11, 2006:

I was thinking it wasn't official and can think of at least two times
in the last 10 years that an 80's group was proposed and voted down
each time although I can't for the life of me understand why given the
interest in that decade of music. If I remember right one of the last
votes on this issue was possibly during the time period that the
battle of the 70's albums postings were going on which were possibly 4
or more years ago. How time flies!!!!
