I didn't. And I probably wouldn't get elected
to president because of it.
But if my parents would have run for pres, they
surely would have had to answer for my actions,
behavior and beliefs.
That's probably the reason the religious sheep
flock to the right. If a religious politician
sticks his dick, mind, hand, where it shouldn't be,
all he has to do is weep on television and ask for
gawd to forgive him. Because after all, xtians
aren't perfect, they stick their dicks, minds,
hands into the same places the rest of us heathens
do. But they pay off their transgressions to the
man with big hair.
But all of that aside, the "family-value types"
WILL attempt to assign some excuse, blame, repent
for Sarah's little hot pantied teen. They'll spend
millions on making it look appropriate.
Imagine being a VP candidate and having your 17 y/o
tell you "mom, I'm pregnant". The repub party administrators,
and McCain's staff will SURELY do everything they can to
turn that little fuckup into a positive. "Look at the
human transgression/sin/setback that Sarah has had to overcome".
They COULD do a good job of appealing to the unwed teen
mother voting demographic. But they won't. They'll continue
to maintain that it's wrong/a sin/whatever.
Do we know for sure at what point in the ONE meeting
McCain had with Palin, before choosing her for a running
mate, that he learned of the teen PG?
They had better all figure it out now. Cause if she
gets the office, she'll never again have time for
any of those kids. And THAT would seem like a much
bigger issue for the "family value types" than getting
gidget into the Naval Observatory.

Agreed . Palin's experience comes down to being the mayor of a small
town (pop. ~500) and the governor of a state with the population of a
mid-size city (~700, 000).
And that state has no budgetary worries (unlike the other 49) due to
oil revenue and *earmarks*. How easy is that to balance a budget ????

The only reason McCain picked Sarah Palin over former 2-term
Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Rick Santorum, who has all the same
positions as she has, plus his added plus of more foreign policy
experience (for better or worse), and more national security
experience, as policy-making contributor to the Republican Party, who
was considered an up-and-comer for national office and was already in
national party leadership before his defeat to Democrat Bob Casey
(because Pennsylvanians finally woke up to how extreme Santorum's
positions were) was simply because of gender. Santorum would have
had all the same bonafides and appeal to the Religious Right-hards
(sic) as Palin, except McCain wanted a woman to appeal to disaffected
Hilary voters.

I don't think so. Some 'independents' who would have voted for Hillary may
be swayes, but I really don't think that McCain is dumb enough to think that
Palin will attract a real Hillary supporter. He put her on the ticket
because she IS Middle America, clinging to her guns and religion, and she's
