True, but it was their series of Doo Wop specials that started
that type of musical nostalgia-related fund-raising programming, and
proved lucrative enough to encourage them to continue with other
genres.

I listed a total of 10 dating from 2004-2012. That's over 1 per year.

I sincerely doubt that they're producing "many more times" this amount
of R&B or Doo-Wop specials.

My 300+ Sinatra records span from his early Harry James recordings
(1939) to some tracks from his "Duets II" album (1994). My Guy
Lombardo records go into the early 50s, and my Helen O'Connell solo
albums are from the 1950s as well.

The first three were all topping the charts in the early 50s and my
collections of their material reflects this. The bulk of my 300-odd
Crosby records are from the 40s and 50s, and nearly all of my Ames
Brothers and Rosemary Clooney sides as well. I haven't got anything
by Dennis Day (yet), and my Robert Mitchum's are (for the most part) a
mix of his 1948 "Rachel & The Stranger album" and his 1957 Calypso
album -- with the soundtrack versions of "Thunder Road" and "Leaning
on the Everlasting Arms" thrown in for good measure (1955 and 1958).


But recording dates aside, all the artists I'd listed are "Scarlotti
favorites" and have been well represented on my playlists (with the
exceptions of Sammy Kaye and Dennis Day -- both of whom I need to
expand my collections on).

So what you continue to do is list a bunch of singers who careers are
associated with early times and claim they were significant 50s
Classic Pop singers. Mitchum had no hits.

Doo Wop, R&B, Soul, etc. count for *at least* 3 separate musical
styles. In fairness, MY music should likewise include all the various
forms of music I listen to.

frequent visitor to the charts in the early 50s (10 Top 30 singles btw
1950-1953).
