What's your usual newsreader? You posted this with Thunderbird,
which has no problems rendering HTML.

There you go again, doing what you do best ... shucking, jiving,
sidestepping, and changing the subject when you don't have a
legitimate response to a post.

I did that once. It was years ago. I was responding, I think, to "Fosman"
Joe P. I got my knuckles rapped and never did it again.

Right now I am listening to "Begin The Beguine" by Charlie Parker, from
1952. Damn, is it mellow.

Because it is now 2009 and bandwidth is both plentiful and cheap and no one
has ANY excuse for not having a newsgroup reader that is incapable of
handling HTML?

As I was told many years ago, it is a sign of ignorance to post HTML in
usenet. Spammers would take great pride doing it! Makes posted articles
bloated with HTML tags!!!

I do use dial-up, Mr. Sharx :-)

Not sure X-News reader can render HTML.

I question the plentiful and cheap bandwidth, but agree about HTML,
which has no real difference in size anyway, unless someone adds
pictures or other media, which I bet still isn't acceptable.

No. There was no picture in that post. ;-)

> That's not very big.

Thank you, Actually, that post was made in both plain text and
HTML. That way HTML-capable readers display the rendered HTML and
non-HTML-capable readers display the plain text portion. Xnews, for
example, displays the post in plain text, and treats the HTML as an
attachment. Even posted in both formats the post was only about 4 1/2
KB in size. Uni wastes more bandwidth than that every day.
