This is one of a two track tape. Walter Ward (lead singer) isn't heard
laughing, he's on the other track. Take #4 is the girls overdubbing
their vocals and adding hand clapping. Judging by the amount of studio
talk on other Takes, the females vocals may have accumulated over the
Takes. Not sure the rest of The Olympics were at this recording session,
though some male chatter can be heard.
Some of what I can make out:
Studio: Take Four!
3 backing vocal girls: Where's our parts, honey..., sweetie?
3 backing vocal girls: You're black.
3 backing vocal girls: She may be black, but she...
Studio: Oh brother!
3 backing vocal girls: Quit talking...
Most of the stuff I read in CD booklets, or by those who specialize in
Soul music, may tell you about the artist, but seldom do they, or could
they, tell you about the recording session as heard/told here.
Never actually published in stereo, other than the snippet I made from
these sessions...
