On this day Big Bill Broonzy records "Walkin' That Lonesome Road". in
Chicago for Mercury.That same year he makes his first trip to
Europe---and opens the door for the many American Bluesmen that will
follow him there

Jack Dupree has a session at the King studio in Cincinnati this day
from whence comes "Me And My Mule","Overhead" and "So Sorry, So Sorry"
all released on King singles in 1956 plus the instrumental "Sharp
Harp" released on Federal in 1961
Country cum RAB artist Jimmy Murphy records four tracks in Nashville.
"Here Kitty Kitty"/"I'm Looking For A Mustard Patch" is selected for
his next Columbia single in 1956 whilst "Sweet Sweet Lips" and "Put
Some Meat On Them Bones" stay in the can for decades until the advent
of his Bear Family compilation set in 1990

(singing "Whole Lotta Loving"). Don Rondo and Gordon MaCrae also

On the UK chart Tommy Edwards repeats his US feat of taking the remake
of his own "It's All In The Game" to #1 replacing MGM label mate
Connie Francis and "Stupid Cupid"
On the UK album chart the soundtrack to "South Pacific" goes to #1
this day.

Johnny Mathis headlines "The Ed Sullivan Show" this night where he
performs "Witchcraft," "The Best Of Everything" and "Misty". The Barry

Louisiana Hayride star,Johnny Horton is buried in Shreveport,La this
day.
The same day that the results of one of the closest presidential
elections in US history come in---as Senator John F. Kennedy, a

surpassing by a fraction the 49.6-percent that is received by Vice
President Richard M. Nixon for the Republicans

chosen as his next single (remember that at this time Atco are sitting
on several better tracks---including "Things"---which they have "in
the can") .
In Nashville Roy Orbison records "House Without Windows" (released on
the "In Dreams" LP and a couple of attempts at "Gigolette"
And in Philly,Danny & The Juniors along with "guest vocal" Freddy
Cannon record "Twistin' All Night Long". Later this month (November
14) at an overdub session at Mirasound studio in New York,The Four
Seasons add add vocal support to the basic track
