The list of proposed entries (the makeup of which I believe
aproximates to the makeup of the group as a whole) appears below (it
has since been revised to include nominations made thus far).
This is your LAST CHANCE TODAY to submit PERSONAL NOMINATIONS which
I'll take from anyone holding valid contest ID----these can be be
anything as long as they are bona fide 1950 released singles.Voters
can choose up to SIX nominated records each.
PLEASE!!!!---before submitting lengthy lists of alleged "missed"
releases PLEASE consider that many early 1950 hits of all genres were
actually late 1949 releases which is why they don't appear (which
explains why Anton Karas' "The Harry Lime Theme",Red Foley's
"Chattanoogie Shoe Shine Boy",The Ames Brothers' "Rag Mop",Ivory Joe
Hunter's "I Almost Lost My Mind" and several dozen other big "1950
hits" are not here)

Yeah, know this sounds silly to have to say but there are people out
there that seem to think it a good idea to do this
There will be a preliminary round which will be published here (and on
the website) tomorrow Monday 9th November. Please note that unless the
entrant was a bona fide major (and I mean MAJOR!) hit in its genre
then ANYTHING from the list below is liable to be selected at random
to fight that Preliminary Round (in order to bring the total entrants
down to the required 512 figure needed to start Round One of the
Singles Battle proper).
Snippets of most of the records featured will appear in the usual way
and enough time will be allowed in the Prelimary Round and Round One
for voting with this in mind as happened in the last few contests

Also, Wtf game was Martin Atkinson watching today? The Evans flying studs
up to Drogba's chest should have resulted in a red card and PK. Instead, he
issues a yellow to Didier. Where were the eyes of the assistants and the
fourth official? Why have all the coms etc, if no one sees the obvious.
After all, there were only those two players anywhere near the ball. Refs
shouldn't assume things as Atkinson did.

Could'nt agree more. Also Valencia should have seen red for that two
footed challenge on Lampard. Still the end result came good and it was
nice to see Fergie's day ruined :)

Lots of Chelsea fans in the states, not so much Man U. Its the desire to
support the underdog I think. It was a great game to watch. I found it
interesting how well Man U neutralized Lampard and Ballack in midfield.
Essien played great, as did the back four for Chelsea. The guy that seems
to be totally rejuvinated to me is Anelka. He seems to fly out there, is
quick in a way I cant recall in the past, and is playing with a freedom
that was missing in the past. Its like having a new player. Had to be a
mind thing for him, which usually goes to coaches putting limits on
players.
I suspect there will be some fallout of the officiating, since this is a
huge game with huge ramifications. I forgot about the Lampard foul, but
you are right. Atkinson just lost total control, and Evans seemed to be
totally over the line after the first foul. I was kind of expecting
Rooney to act up, and/or Drogba, both of whom have temper control issues.
The official that I absolutely can't fathom is Riley. He never fails to
screw things up. I was simply amazed to learn that he is now the head of
the Officials group, and now he is responsible for the training of all
officials. At least in his new position, Riley is off the pitch. Lets
hope he is a lousy teacher.
