No, I think he makes a fair point. Although this thing happens a lot there
are some examples of similar cover art done in a better way. For example
Scientist wins the world cup has white and black guys on the losing team.

I'm looking at MA part2 as I type. I'm looking at highly stylised art work
with the dreadlock karate character enhanced so he stand out over the other
characters. The dreadlock image is the only one enhanced, wearing a Black
belt and the rest are line drawn.(Note also the comment on the front: '20
MORE BLACK BELTERS - LIMITED EDITION) To me they are neutral images. I can't
extrapolate from these line drawings that they are there to represent a
particular race or gender.
How can you say they are not representation of Orential women?
In fact, everything else about the art work is neutral; their facial
outlines, the knife, the fighting stick, their belts are neutral(no colour)
and by implication so are their skills at the martial arts.
Racist? I don't think so.

On the other hand, I find the T&A displayed on some of the Ragga Ragga
albums, and most of Jamdown's Riddim Ryder albums to be very SEXIST and
DEGRADING towards women. I've always thought that if you have to do that in
order to sell albums, it doesn't say much for the music contained
therein.....
much respect,

even if it was 'racist', who cares?
yall have been doing this same stuff to black people
for the longest. so quite your whining.
i have news for all of yall, yall are not
down by no means. just stick to listening to your
reggae and leave the 'down with the man' slogans
to someone else.
In article <aq3ga.174$uH5...@news-binary.blueyonder.co.uk>,
Reneto_Adams_walks_on_water says...
Making generalizations based upon race (by europeans) is what contributed to
you peoples enslavement in the beginning. Why would you want to go and
continue that foolish way of thinking yourself. You are just continuing a
cycle of hatred.

Personally, I would care.

Can anyone translate this for me?

And again ???
"O my body, make me always a man who questions", Frantz Fanon
cuz it's JUST a CD cover, am sure there was no ill intent when making the
cover, probably just "looked cool" to the artist who did it. If i had to think
of every concept/intention behind a CD cover, I wouldn't own any music
Bbbbbuttt...
I have some reggae albums with T&A and also some great music - best of both
worlds (IMHO !-)
