i think carlene davis is an awesome singer when she sings
something like "7 miles of black starliners" like i saw her do at
reggae sunsplash some years ago.

I love many of the female reggae artists but I think my most
favorite live woman performer is Sister Carol. However, her
cd's just don't match her live performances. I wonder why...

My favorites are female roots singers like Aisha, Dayjah (whose ´Storm
Clouds´ with Disciples & Rootsman is a real masterpiece) and Rasheda (great
album for Disciples + nice tunes with Jah Shaka and Augustus Pablo). And
let´s not forget Special A (from Blakamix), Boney-L (her ´Jah Music´ with
Vibronix was one of the greatest rootstunes last year, imho), Sister
Sharifa, Simiah, Molara, Sista Rebekah, Allison etc etc.

By the way, anyone know where Sis Nya is today ? Or the other sister who did
the classic ´Africa is Calling His Children Home´ for Shaka in the early
80´s?
