Redlocks
A college education can be beneficial if used wisely
but speaks nothing to the insight and inspiration of
roots reggae culture.
Stephen E Buggie is a college professor and gets his
vicarious kicks dipping his toe into the reggae water
as a radio dj/personality but please lead us not astray
with any presumptions about knowledge being wisdom.
Many reggae artists hold graduate degrees in Ghettology
from The University of the Streets. Some hold PhD degrees
(poverty, hunger and deprivation) These Dr's of Reggaeology
can out-think, out-reason and out-flex most of these stiff,
privileged reggae wannabe 'authorities.'
professors or possessors?

I'm curious. What prompts the question?

This show has been aired for eight years, and theme shows are offered more
often than in the past. Two other themes that are now scheduled are: WAR
ON DRUGS (September 17th) and MIDWESTERN REGGAE (October 1st). Theme
shows are now offered to counter listener criticisms that the shows all
sound the same. Other themes in the past year were: BABYLON, FIRE, DREAMS,
MONEY, WOMEN MUSICIANS, CANADIAN REGGAE, HAWAIIAN REGGAE, AFRICAN REGGAE,
NO ENGLISH ALLOWED, DUB, DANCEHALL, CALYPSO, INDIAN REGGAE.
I still wish to hear from musicians who hold college degrees for the
August 27th show. At this time, the artist with the highest degrees is
COSMO (M.D., Professor at the Univ. of California Medical School). The
person with the highest formal training specifically in music is ANNA
FISHER (music degrees from New England Conservatory and also from Indiana
University School of Music).

Did you include Ibo Cooper (ex-Third World)? I believe he's a musicologist,
teaching at the Kingston university, right?
So it reads in his bio for the Calabash festival of Caribbean literature.

The bottom sentence proves the validity of the top one ;)
