I had a listen to a couple of their songs. There is a lot of "live" material
for these guys and I have to say that *live*, the lead vocalist couldn't
carry a tune, if it were neatly folded and place in his inside breast
pocket. I don't see the point of this band. Possibly someone can show me the
error of my thinking here.

cheers......Jeff

Congratulations, you have completed level one!

Now get inside the grandfather clock, hit yourself on the head with a
bottle of champagne and insert 4 quarters into the slot to move up to
level two where you'll answer the musical question, why is Alice Cooper
more important than KISS?

Well, I only had three dimes, but when I followed your instructions
using them instead I was gone for A THOUSAND YEARS, though to you it
probably would have seemed like only a minute. When I got back I ended
up looking like Robert Fripp, and my girl rejected me. Damn you!

"Don't Panic!" - Douglas Adams

Lots of people of both genders will be attracted to your dynamic new
look. But as you begin your new journey, beware of anyone that tries to
convince you that Frippertronics requires handcuffs.

Well played! You advance to the seventh circle of hell, where you'll
take to the anguished, the depraved and the depressed because this
depression treats everyone with equal violence!

Isn't that right Jeffrey?

You're asking me, Tony ?
To my mind *_hell_*, would be trying to give singing lessons to Wayne
Coyne. That would be purgatory.

cheers.....Jeff

Their strength and appeal lie far more with their live shows than
their studio releases and/or musical abilities. I just caught them
live for the first time a few weeks ago. While their music is
okay-to-fine (to me), the show was simply tons of fun. It was
certainly the best I've been to in a long time.

Of course, these things all come down to the tastes and preferences
of the individual. For example, as you mention, if vocalists that
can carry tunes are something that matters a lot to someone, I doubt
this band will be for them.

Hey, I heard that!

I like their stuff enough to have 3-4 of their releases, but
(for me) judging them on their studio releases misses a huge
part of why they appeal.

The Tony that didn't say I was clearly deaf

I did notice that the audience[s] seem to know every word of every song and
supplied most of the on-key vocals. :)

I was wondering if the band merely handed out drugs, or possibly free
alcoholic beverages. Either/or would be a benefit IMHO. :)
Of course I am joking and to each their own, the quality of music afterall,
is subjective to the ear of the beholder.

cheers......Jeff
ps: the studio version of "Do You Realize", is quite a nice little song.
