I know more Jets fans and I'm more liberal than most, so all I can say
is J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!
-Steve O.
As a Dolphins phan, at least we have one thing in common - Go Bengals!
The Jest got a playoff spot gift-wrapped by the Colts.
Dan
As a Jet fan I am sick of the whole gift wrap by the Colts theory. I
won't lie it sure helped. But they were within a touchdown midway
through the third quarter when Manning was pulled. Sooner or later the
Colts were going to lose a game. You can only go the well so many
times. How many wins come from behind wins did they have this year?
Give the Jets a little credit.
J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets Jets!

I partially agree, but the Jets should really be thanking the Steelers
for their playoff spot...all they had to do was defeat Oakland, KC, or
Cleveland and they would have been in at 10-6...all were terrible
losses.
-J
Understandable. But the Jets had some bad losses as well. Buffalo,
Miami. 3 losses were by 3 or less points. Plus they also lost Kris
Jenkins and Leon Washington for the season. On the flip side Polamalu
was gone for quite some time. I'm 36, the Jets have not won a Super
Bowl in my lifetime. Nuff said. You've had a few. Spread the wealth.
Mark
Last week the Jets started the blowout 6 plays into the game while
Cincy was still ddefinitely trying. They really didn't pack it in
until the second half.

:) No betting in the Jets for me, when I do that they *always* lose!

I owe you a call as it is. I'll try and hit you up al ittle later. :)
As a Bills fan, you should be rooting for the AFC East!!!
Now file that under "dumbest thing Marcman ever wrote" ;-)
The Jets were winning the game before the Colts pulled their starters.
I think the Jets match up pretty well with the Colts. If we make any
noise at all in the playoffs, I really hope we get Indy and not SD.
Colts are #1 seed but SD is the best in the AFC imo.
Right. I just mistyped, but meant tos ay what you just said.

#1 Defense in the NFL deserves some credit!
Lots of teams lost lots of games they "should" have won.
Bottom line . . . all teams played 16 games and with the same rules
applied, the Jets finished in the top 6 in the AFC. Any team that
makes the playoffs in the NFL earned their spot.
Yea any team can say that, the Bills lost the first game of the season
against NE by one point after being up 14 points in the 4th quarter,
and they lost 6 to 3 to the browns.
I was just trying to say that the Jets should be thanking the Jets for
their playoffs spot, not the Steelers or the Colts or anybody else.
The Jets didn't back into the playoffs. They won their last two games
and got in. Sure Indy pulled their starters, but it was a close game
when Manning was still in there and it can't be held against the Jets
that Indy pulled starters, that's not the Jets doing, the Jets did
what they had to do, win. And the Jets were in full pummell mode
against Cincinnati before their starters came out. Maybe the Jets will
face them both one more time this year on their way to dare I say an
AFC Championship so that we can settle this score < wink > once and
for all! :)
When you run the #1 defense in the NFL against a team that struggles
(especially lately) to score points sometimes it'll look pretty
easy. :) The Jets are a rookie QB away from being serious
contenders. It's now a very short season. Four games to go. As we've
discussed, things don't always happen in the NFL the way they should
based on the stats, get a rookie QB with a good attitude a little
better coached up and ya never know!

That's the thing I don't like about the Jets. Their defense is top
notch, along with their running game...but if they go down by two
scores in the first half, they are fucked. You know as well as I do
that rookie QB's don't have a history of playing well on the road in
the playoffs. That said, if they can avoid turnovers and keep Sanchez
under 25 pass attempts I like their chances against just about anyone.
-J
Oh, I know. :) I'm just still bitter about losing to the three
aforementioned bottom dwellers while defeating 4 playoff teams.
Though in trying to be optimistic, I'll probably enjoy the playoffs
more not having a rooting interest.
-J
Our rookie QB cost us at least five wins this year, no exageration. A
few weeks ago, Rex Ryan started taking more of an interest in the QB
position (where previously it was all in the OC's hands) and Sanchez
has responded. He's got a great arm and can generate yardage, his
biggest problem was mistakes. If they can keep the turnovers under
control, Sanchez can exploit the other teams defense when they try to
stuff the box against the run.
If they go down by two scores can be avoided by not going down by two
scores. Heh. That's what a #1 defense is supposed to do for you. And
if they do, I mean it is possible for Sanchez to hook up with Cotchery
or Edwards or Brad Smith or Dustin Keller and put some points on the
board through the air. He just has to be smart about it and not throw
up the easy pick. Like I said, we're down to a four game season now,
lets see if the rookie HC has the rookie QB under control and if the
#1D can play four strong games in a row.
FWIW, your team was thisclose to getting in. My Phins had three
straight games against .500-level competition and lost EVERY STINKING
ONE! And the last two were at home. At least there is no doubting
where my team is at - we need some serious defensive help.
Dan
On the bright side, Henne looks pretty good. If you guys can get a WR
or two he's got promise. Ted Ginn Jr. is an excellent return man, but
word on the street is he can't take a hit. Davonne Bess is the best
you got, not bad, but not A list.
Also, Ronnie Brown is a STUD RB, when he went down you guys were
toast. Ricky is good, but not as good without Brown.
Like I said...don't turn it over, keep Sanchez under 25 passing
attempts I like their chances.
-J
Yeah, Ronnie B was the Wildcat triggerman. Bess would be a fine #2 WR.
The Phins are simply lacking a #1.
And now, the Jest are shellacking the Bungals for the 2nd straight
week. First prize - a trip to Indy?
Dan
We can beat Indy.
I'm rooting for NE tomorrow.
> Dan
ok, ill give it up to your jets marcman. once again we became the
Bungles.
i have been nothing but impressed w. mark shanchez this season. one of
the better rookie qb's i have seen in a long time.
good luck next week, for me its on to college basketball:))
deg
Wayne, I didn't want to make this me vs. you, I hate it that the
Bengals let you down. But I have to be honest, the Jets advancing to
the next round is the biggest thing that's happened to me since I
scored Hampton tix right here in RMP!
J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS! :)
