everybody's saying, "oh, those theives are idiots, you can't sell a
super-famous, $75 million painting that's stolen."

i say bullshit. if i was a super-rich, evil guy with a heavily defended
compound, i'd buy that shit and hang it up in a second. come and get,
norway. you fucking pussies. do you have an army? would i care?
bwahahahahahaaaa...

I don't think that's the kind of thing people steal without a buyer anyway.

well, i was reading the daily news this morning (so you know my information is
really solid...) and they suggested that the thieves were going to hold it for
ransom. that makes a lot of sense -- selling famous paintings is nearly
impossible. Even if someone wanted to buy it, they really couldn't show it off
to friends. Thus, if someone were paying them for it, that person would have
some obsession with the painting and not care about its worth/and or exhibiting
it. Another thing they might do is that they may leave it in a Swiss Bank (i.e.
Da Vinci code--more rock solid source info.). Remember that Cellini's Salt
Shaker was stolen a few years ago and is still missing.

Good vibes.

I was watching a program on this last night and they were discussing the
biggest unsolved heist in American history.....t'was AMAZING. Like seven
pieces of art valued at over half a BILLION dollars. One of the paintings,
a Rembrandt (his only seascape) was valued at $100 Million alone........

These were at this museum which was guarded by two security guards and NO
alarm system. They came up to the door in the middle of the night dressed as
police officers, demanded entrance, and easily subdued the guards using no
weapons but a full nelson and some handcuffs.......they then had the run of
the place for a WHILE......though it appears they knew exactly what they
were looking for.

This was in the early 90's...like '91 or something.......and nothing has
been seen since. Made me want to become an art thief.....if only for a few
minutes.
