Met Turandot tonight

I just returned from a very, very mediocre performance of Turandot at the Met. Licitra was singing Calaf, and I think it was his first with the Met, and maybe his first ever. He did not really know the role, and sang poorly. Musically there were six or seven missed entrances, and one or two early endings. The voice was big, but sounded very open and crude.... more »
