The principal roles were splendidly sung and performed, and
everyone else was very good as well.
If you have the opportunity, go see this.

What makes for a "good" aria...? A pretty melody? A meatty matter? The
difficuty of it's performance? Vocal fireworks? Or, is it just a matter of a
good voice and a good interpretation?

I guess that would depend on the person....

What makes for a good piece of art work, painting, sculpture, etc......it's
in the eye of the beholder, or in this case of the aria, it's in the ear of
the listener.

So if the listener likes it it is good? Or if the listener thinks it's good
it is good? I need to get this straight before I report it. I learned that
from Ms. Olsen (no relation).

==================================
An odd position for the leader of the anti-Bocelli gendarmerie to
take.

Let me make I sure I understand you on this -- It's in the ear of the
listener -- unless you don't like it?
